Mark Feinberg

Head Coach

Mark Feinberg begins his 19th season as head coach of the Bears men's and women's swimming program. He became a full-time member of the athletic coaching staff in April of 2008. Feinberg has been coaching swimming for the past 38 years – 28 at the college level preceded by 10 with high school and club teams. Since taking over, the men and women have set all 38 team records. Feinberg has been named Centennial Conference Coach of the Year nine times. He has coached nine different All-Americans and 17 different Academic All-Americans. A native of Williamsport, Pa. and a 1989 graduate of Shippensburg University, Feinberg came to Ursinus after spending 10 years as an assistant swimming coach at West Chester University, where he led the Golden Rams to multiple top five finishes at the Division II championships during is tenure. After earning his master’s degree in sports management from West Chester in 1997, he served as an instructor in the department of kinesiology until 2004. At Shippensburg, Feinberg was a four-year swimmer and two-time All-American. After college, he went on to swim at the YMCA Masters becoming a six-time national champion. He currently resides in Collegeville with his wife and three children.

Ryan Kennedy begins his 6th season as Assistant Coach at Ursinus College. A graduate of Ursinus College in 2009, Ryan was a 2 year team captain who once held 5 school records. Ryan graduated Ursinus with a Major in Exercise and Sport Science and became the Head Coach at the Phoenixville YMCA and held that position for 9 years. Ryan has won multiple District, State and National titles at the YMCA level while also scoring at the Junior and Senior National levels of USA swimming. Ryan traveled to Omaha in 2016, taking an athlete to Olympic Trials in 4 different events. Ryan Currently resides in Spring City.

Jerilyn Kucharski enters her 19th season as an assistant coach of the men's and women's swimming program. A 2004 graduate of West Chester University, she was a four-year varsity letter winner and four-time All-American on the swim team under current Ursinus Coach Mark Feinberg. Kucharski was also a three-time Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference champion in the 200 medley relay, 100 backstroke and 400 medley relay. Her senior year, she was named captain of a team that was ranked fourth in the nation. She received the WCU Outstanding Scholar-Athlete award for the 2003-04 season, while earning the PSAC Scholar-Athlete award from 2001-03. A native of Salisbury, Pa., Kucharski earned a bachelor of science in criminal justice from West Chester. She currently resides in Quakertown, Pa. with her husband and daughter.
Rick Ringenwald

Rick Ringenwald begins his 14th season as an assistant coach at Ursinus. A 1988 graduate of the University of Vermont, he was a four-year varsity letter winner and captain of the men's swim team as a senior. He was the 1988 Vermont collegiate state champion in the 1000-freestyle and 400 free relay. He was also part of the school record setting 800 free relay in 1985. Prior to college, he attended Hatboro-Horsham High School where he was a three-year varsity letter winner and captain of the team during his senior year. He held school records in the 200 IM, 100 free and 400 free relay. He was also a top ten finisher at the PIAA District I Championships. He also earned the most valuable swimmer award as a senior. A resident of Collegeville with his wife Patti, and two children. He earned a bachelor of arts in environmental studies, and later earned a master of science in environmental health.

Marcus Wagner

Marcus Wagner

Assistant Coach

Marcus Wagner marks his second year as a coach for the program. Marcus comes from Dallas, PA where he specialized in distance freestyle events during his high school swimming career. Marcus was district champion and an all-state swimmer in the 200- and 500-yard freestyle for three straight years. He was also a part of the 200- and 400-yard freestyle district champion relay teams his junior and senior year. Marcus tabbed 4 school records and 3 pool records throughout his high school swimming career. Marcus joined the Ursinus swimming family in 2017 while he earned his bachelor’s degree with honors in Biology. While at Ursinus, Marcus grabbed 4 school records and still currently holds top 10 times in four events at Ursinus. He was also co-captain of the team his senior year. After graduating Ursinus, Marcus went pursued a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from Temple University’s Lewis Katz School of Medicine and Post-Doctoral training with Dr. Sharlene Day at the University of Pennsylvania. Currently, Marcus is also a visiting assistant professor in the Biology Department at Ursinus. Marcus enjoys working with Ursinus students both anemically and in the pool.
