Betsy Leonard was named the Tigers Head Swim Coach on October 28, 2011, and the Head Cross Country Coach in January 2011. Coach Leonard has also served as the Assistant Fitness Director for TigeRec since August 2010 and was promoted to Director in December 2012. In her roll with TigeRec, she is an AFPA (American Fitness Professional and Associates) Certified Personal Trainer and is the Fitness Instructor.
In addition to her duties on The Hill, Betsy also works as the Food and Beverage Director at The Manor Golf Club and Resort. Her work does not end there, however, as she coaches cross country, track, and swimming at Fuqua School in neighboring Farmville, VA.
She attended York College (PA) and was a member of the school's swim and track teams. Along with her passion for nutrition and fitness, Betsy is an avid horseback rider and trainer. Coach Leonard currently resides in Farmville, VA.
