Recruiting information

At North Central College, we are searching for swimmers who want to be a part of a tight-knit community that heavily supports both athletic and academic excellence. North Central is a small (~3,000) private college located in Naperville, IL, a western suburb of the Chicago Metropolitan Area. Across the board, North Central’s athletics programs are highly competitive within the CCIW (College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin) and Division III. With nearly 40% of the student population participating in at least one of North Central's 25 sports, the campus is always buzzing with athletic activity, and faculty and staff are highly supportive of students’ athletic pursuits. North Central boasts both top-tier, newly renovated athletic facilities as well as historic facilities that have housed many years of academic excellence.

The Swimming & Diving team’s history goes back to the 1940’s and is replete with accolades including:

  • One Olympic Gold Medalist
  • Two Olympians
  • Four NAIA National Championships
  • 38 Individual and seven relay National Champions
  • 88 Men’s NCAA All-Americans
  • 27 Women’s NCAA All-Americans
  • 21 NAIA All-Americans
  • 21 Conference titles, five runner-up finishes
  • 126 Men’s individual conference champions and 32 relay conference champions
  • 30 Women’s individual conference champions and five relay conference champions
  • 13 Conference Most Valuable Swimmer award winners
  • Six Conference Most Outstanding Participant award winners
  • Eight NCAA All-Americans since 1999

We are searching for dedicated athletes who are passionate about the sport of swimming and want to be a part of a close-knit team culture. Swimmers should be passionate about the sport of swimming and possess a growth mindset, or a belief in their abilities to continue to master the sport with adequate effort and dedication. While demonstrated success in the pool is key, we care deeply about the character and attitude of our student-athletes, as we believe each individual can have a huge impact on the culture of the team. If this sounds like a program you want to be a part of, please contact coach Averi Lewis (Women’s Swimming) at aglewis@noctrl.edu or Nora Schroedter (Men’s Swimming) at naschroedter@noctrl.edu.
