Ledecky Captures Sixth Swimmer-of-the-Week Honor

With conference championships under way, we will start to see less Conference Swimmers of the Week being awarded, but will see more and more fast swimming and NCAA qualifying times. Katie Ledecky once again earns Division I National honors. Ledecky led Stanford to a win over rival Cal as she swept the 200, 500, and 1000 freestyles. On the men’s side, Miles Mackenzie (Pacific) earns his first Division I National awards. Mackenzie dropped impressive times in the 100 free (43.49) and 200 free (1:36.07) at the Ohio State Winter Invite.

The lone Mid Major Swimmer of the Week is Kenna Ramey (Pacific). Ramey came away with a victory in the 100 fly (53.10) and a runner up finish in the 50 free (22.96) at the Ohio State Winter Invite.

Erica Dahlgren (Drury) and Rodrigo Codo Berti (Indianapolis) are this week’s Division II award winners as they both helped their team win conference championships. Dahlgren came out of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships with four victories in the 200, 500, 1,000, and 1,650 freestyles. Codo Berti led the University of Indianapolis to a conference championship by winning the 100 back, 200 back, and 200 IM and contributing to relay victories in the 400 free relay and 400 medley relay.

Division III Swimmers of the Week are Kelli Callahan of Puget Sound and Noah Cutting of Linfield.

Jessica Axford (Union (KY)) and Lukas Macek (Keiser) are this week’s NAIA winners. South Georgia sweeps this week’s NJCAA awards as Brittany Herndon and Zac Elz earn national nods.

All selections are independent of selections made by each conference.  Winners are selected from results submitted by Midnight EST each Monday.
