Frostburg, Salem, York Tussle in Maryland

The Frostburg women were extremely impressive as they finished with eight of those 10 wins. As a team, the women defeated Salem, 106-13 and endured a narrow 72-50 loss to York (Pa.).
 
Junior Macey Nitchie and sophomore Maddie Weinberger posted perfect afternoons as they won all four events in which they swam.
 
Nitchie and Weinberger teammates Emily Turner (sophomore) and Elizabeth Myers (freshman) opened the meet with a win in the 200-meter medley relay in 2:10.44.
 
Nitchie and Weinberger were 3-for-3 in their individual events. Nitchie broke her own school record with a win in the 50-meter freestyle in 27.44. In her next event, the 100-meter freestyle, she again broke her own school record in 58.99.
 
She capped her afternoon by breaking a 14-year old school record with a 1:11.00 in the 100-meter butterfly.
 
Weinberger opened her individual efforts with a win in the 100-meter breaststroke in 1:18.56. She also posted victories in the 200-breastsroke (2:52.71) and the 200-meter IM (2:37.69).
 
Turner finished with a win in the 100-meter backstroke (1:13.22) and took runner-up in the 200-meter backstroke (2:36.35).
 
Freshman Rebecca Marsh captured a pair of third-place finishes in the 200-meter freestyle (2:26.83) and the 400-meter freestyle (5:09.89), while freshman Valerie Yoder was third in both the 800-meter freestyle (11:07.47) and the 200-meter butterfly (3:07.58).
 
Turner, Marsh, Myers and senior Sydney Fazenbaker took home third place in the 400-meter freestyle in 4:29.97.
 
On the men's side, junior Christian Marsh registered two wins as the Bobcat men defeated Salem 100-21 and lost to York 100-22.
 
March posted victories in the 50-meter freestyle (24.61) and 200-meter breaststroke (2:35.97) and was runner-up in the 100-meter freestyle (55.66).
 
March also joined teammates Daniel Ryczek (junior), Marquell Proctor (junior) and Jacob Auerbach (freshman) for second place in the 400-meter freestyle relay.
 
Individually, Auerbach registered three third-place finishes in the 200-meter freestyle (2:21.96), 200-meter backstroke (2:28.03) and the 100-meter butterfly (1:08.00).
 
Ryczek was third in the 400 (4:42.07) and 800-meter freestyles (9:57.81), while junior Darnell Hungerford was third in both the 200-meter IM (2:42.03) and the 100-meter breaststroke (1:14.52).
 
In the meet's opening event, the men's foursome of Hungerford, Proctor, Deionn Yarberough (junior) and Chase Manard (sophomore) took third in 1:59.72.
 
Junior Zach Shattuck toppled his own U.S. Paralympic record in the 200-meter butterfly (3:21.31) and captured the Paralympic record in the 200-meter backstroke (3:26.31) for the first time.
