MIT Still Cruising at NEWMAC Championships

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) men remain atop the 2017 New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships leaderboard after three days of action inside Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s (WPI) Sports & Recreation Center.
 
MIT ended the night in four figures with 1,004 points. U.S. Coast Guard Academy (745) and host WPI (715) are second and third while Wheaton College (446) is fourth, Babson College (291) is fifth. Springfield College (290) is sixth and Clark University (178) is seventh.
 
The final day of competition will include the 1,650-yard freestyle, 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard butterfly and the 400-yard freestyle relay. Trials begin at 10am and finals at 6pm.

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) women maintained its advantage after the third day of the 2017 New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Swimming and Diving Championships inside Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s Sports & Recreation Center.
 
MIT is 15 points shy of an even thousand with 985. WPI moved back into second with 518.5 points. Wheaton College (496), Springfield College (487) and Wellesley College (348) are third through fifth. The second group is led by U.S. Coast Guard Academy (341). The Cadets are followed by Smith College (240.5), Clark University (232), Mount Holyoke College (163) and Babson College (116).
 
The last day of action will include the 1,650-yard freestyle, 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard butterfly, 400-yard freestyle relay and 3-meter dive. Trials begin at 10am and finals at 6pm.
