Kansas Pair Highlight Swimmers-of-the-Week

The inagural CSCAA Open Water Championship produced five of the first CollegeSwimming National Swimmers-of-the-Week.

Kansas' Haley Bishop and Libby Walker tied for first to share the individual title at the inaugural CSCAA National Collegiate Open Water Championship.  Nothing could separate the pair at the finish and as a result the sophomores have been named co-Swimmers-of-the-Week for Division I women.

Delta State's Caroline Jouisse earned Division II women's honors.  The 22-year-old French freshman picked up a pair of NCAA 'B' cuts for her second-place finishes in the 500 and 1000 Free against Alabama.  The Crimson Tide sank Delta State 212-82

Emmanuel College's Stanislas Raczynski earned the first Men's Swimmer-of-the-Week honors for 2016-17 following his victory at the inagural CSCAA Open Water Championship.  The defending Appalachian Conference champion in the 1650 Freestyle finished 45 seconds ahead of runner-up Marcelo Figueiredo for the title.

Alabama's Laurent Bams earned men's Division I honors following his three wins in Alabama's 211-83 victory over Delta State.  Bams swept the 100 and 200 Freestyle along with the 100 Fly.  Bams' time in the 100 free was a NCAA Division I 'B' cut.

The CSCAA Open Water Championship also produced the week's Division III Swimmers-of-the-Week.  Albion's Maclean Robertson earned the men's nod as the top Division III finisher with his 14th place.  Ohio Wesleyan's Anne Edwards was the top Division III women's finisher at the event.

Because of the lack of meets, CollegeSwimming did not select conference award-winners this week.
