Alabama Announces Schedule

The 2016-17 Alabama swimming and diving schedules were announced Thursday, with the action getting underway at home against Delta State on Friday, Sept. 9 at 4 p.m.

The Crimson Tide hosts two of this season’s three home meets in September, following the first meet of the entire collegiate season vs. Delta State with a women’s meet against Vanderbilt and West Florida on Sept. 20 at 4 p.m. That meet will be Alabama’s Power of Pink meet, raising awareness in the fight against breast cancer.

The Tide closes its home slate early in 2017, taking on ACC power Florida State on Jan. 21 at 10 a.m. It will be senior day for one the Tide’s largest classes in recent memory. All three home meets will be held in the Don Gambril Olympic Pool at the Alabama Aquatic Center and admission is free.

In between the home meets, Alabama will take to the road to face Missouri (Oct. 14), Auburn (Nov. 4), Tulane women (Jan. 16), LSU (Jan. 17) and Georgia Tech (Jan. 20). The Tide will also travel to Atlanta for the Georgia Tech Invitational (Nov. 17-19) as well as diving invitational at Auburn (Dec. 17-19) and Tennessee (Jan. 3-5).

The postseason finds Alabama in Knoxville, Tenn., for the Southeastern Conference Championships February 14-18 followed by the Bulldog Invitational in Athens, Ga., Feb. 25-26. The NCAA Zone B Diving Championships will be held March 6-8 in Auburn, Ala.

The Women’s and Men’s NCAA Championships will both be held in Indianapolis with the women’s championships being held March 15-18 and the men’s March 22-25.
