Frostburg split a pair of dual meets against Alderson Broaddus and Washington & Jefferson on Saturday.

FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State men's and women's swim teams split with Alderson Broaddus and Washington & Jefferson at home, Saturday afternoon.
Both the Bobcat men and women downed Alderson Broaddus, 75-46, and 89-39, respectively. While the FSU men fell to W&J 82-39 and the women dropped a 72-50 decision.
The Bobcats won a combined 11 events on the day and the FSU women set four new school records, as the men move to 5-3 overall and the women stand at 5-2.
The meet started off with a new school-record and Bobcat win in the 200-meter medley relay. The team of sophomore Emily Turner, sophomore Maddie Weinberger, freshman Elizabeth Myers and junior Macey Nitchie touched first and posted the fastest time in school history in 2:09.17.
Nitchie set an individual school-record in the 50-meter freestyle and won the event in 27.96. She also touched first in the 200-meter freestyle (2:14.29) and the 100-meter freestyle (1:01.24). She also set the school-record in the 100-meter freestyle.
The last record of the day came in the 200-meter breaststroke set by Weinberger. She turned in a first-place performance and also set a new record in 2:51.11. The sophomore also placed first in the 100-meter breaststroke (1:18.83) and finished second in the 200-meter IM (2:43.10).
Turner finished the day with a second-place performance in the 200-meter backstroke (2:41.45) third-place finishes in the 100-meter backstroke (1:6.43) and 800-meter freestyle (10:35.85).
The men collected five first-place finishes, including three by junior Christian March.
March started the day off with a win in the 50-meter freestyle (24.46). He then turned in a decisive first-place finish in the 200-meter breaststroke (2:35.97) and won the 200-meter IM with a time of 2:20.43.
In his first individual collegiate win, freshman Jacob Auerbach touched first in the 800-meter freestyle (9:45.25). Auerbach also finished second in the 400-meter freestyle (4:41.59), the 200-yard medley relay (1:55.52) and the 400-meter freestyle relay (3:57.48).
Junior Darnell Hungerford turned in a first-place performance in the 100-meter breaststroke (1:15.27) and also was a part of the second-place 200-meter medley relay.
Next up, the Bobcats will travel to Salisbury for a CAC match up Saturday, November 5. The meet is set to start at 1:00 pm.

In the first meet of the season the Washington & Jefferson men's and women's swim teams both finished with victories in a nonconference tri-meet against Alderson Broaddus and Frostburg State, giving them both a 2-0 start to the season.
Top Finishers: The women were led by Alexis Glenn (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) who placed first in the 200-meter backstroke (2:34.89) and the 200-meter individual medley (2:36.11) along with a second place finish in the 200-meter freestyle (2:16.82). Owen Hanna (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) also won two individual events to lead the men, finishing first in the 200- (2:08.23) and the 100-meter freestyle (56.70)
The Rest: Laura Travers (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) was victorious in the 400- (5:01.08) and 800-meter freestyle (10:10.23) while Jillian McElhaney (Butler, Pa./Butler Area) won the 100-meter backstroke (1:11.72) and was on the winning 400-meter freestyle relay team along with Madison Babicka (Demotte, Ind./Kankakee Valley), Rachel Nye (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) and Chloe Magyari (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) (4:21.04). For the men, Nicholas Willison (Rockford, Mich./Rockford) placed first in the 200-meter backstroke (2:17.62) and was part of the first-place 200-meter medley relay team along with Zach Lauer (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin), Matt Noel (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) and Jeremy Glasner (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown Area) (1:54.07). Lauer also finished first in the 100-meter backstroke (1:01.26) and was part of the winning 400-meter freestyle relay team with Ian Geister (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley), Noel and Hanna (3:53.43). Tyler Willison (Rockford, Mich./Rockford) rounded out the winning Presidents on the day with a first-place finish in the 400-meter freestyle (4:40.92).
