Washington & Jefferson Splits With West Virginia Wesleyan

Washington & Jefferson split a pair of dual meets against West Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday.

The Washington & Jefferson swimming and diving teams split their first home meet of the season against West Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday, Nov. 5, with the women (4-0) winning, 155-115, and the men (2-1) losing, 161-108.

Top Finishers: Alexis Glenn (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) was victorious in the 200-meter freestyle (2:01.74) and the 100-meter butterfly (1:02.10) and also swam the first leg of the 200-meter medley relay as she, Ann O'Connor (Staten Island, N.Y./Curtis), Rachel Nye (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) and Chloe Magyari (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) won the event (1:55.45). Zach Lauer (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) led the men's team with two wins in the 100- (54.99) and 200-meter backstrokes (2:02.61) and was part of the victorious 200-meter medley relay team along with Jeremy Glasner (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown Area), Matt Noel (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) and Tim Kudray (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Penn Hills) (1:42.87).

The Rest: For the women, Jillian McElhaney (Butler, Pa./Butler Area) placed first in the 100- (1:04.81) and 200-meter backstrokes (2:20.35) while O'Connor and Magyari also recorded two individual wins with O'Connor winning the 100- (1:14.31) and 200-meter breaststrokes (2:41.61) and Magyari winning the 50- (25.68) and 100-meter freestyles (55:48). Kaitlyn Pawcio (Johnstown, Pa./Westmont Hilltop) and Riley Williams (Wilkes Barre, Pa./Holy Redeemer) were both victorious in the team's first diving events of the season with Pawcio winning the one-meter dive (231.90) and Williams winning the three-meter dive (192.20). On the men's side, Kudray placed first in the 50-meter freestyle (22.80) while Jordan Hosfelt (Connellsville, Pa./Connellsville) won the one-meter dive (235.20) and Theo Skoric (Vanderbilt, Pa./Laurel Highlands) won the three-meter dive (252.55).
