Mary Hires McCallum

The University of Mary has selected Allan McCallum to become its first Head Coach.  McCallum returns to South Dakota after spending the past three seasons as head coach at Central Iowa Aquatics. 

McCallum will have to get busy quickly.  Sioux Falls will be joining mary as the NSIC brings back women's swimming  USF has already hired Jonathan Maccoll and signed its first swimmer, Mississippi #1 recruit Kyjana Webber

From 2010-12, he was the head coach of the Rapid City Racers, in Rapid City, South Dakota.  He has been actively involved with swimming for the past 18 years. As a nationally ranked age group swimmer, high school All American, and recipient of All Conference honors as a member of the men’s varsity team at Texas Christian University, he brings an intimate knowledge of the value that swimming can play in a person’s life. His love of swimming translates into a passion for coaching.  He holds a Masters in Coaching and Physical Education, and is an ASCA Level 4 certified coach. Allan has coached at the club and collegiate levels. As an assistant coach, he helped the Northern State's Women's team earn academic All- American honors. Allan believes that the sport of swimming teaches individuals valuable life lessons that they carry with them well beyond their years in the sport. He seeks to create an atmosphere of excellence on a daily basis where swimmers learn the value of commitment, accountability, respect, and hard work.
