N.C. State's Dahl Qualifies for Denmark Olympic Team

Junior Soren Dahl of the NC State swimming and diving team secured his Olympic Games berth on Sunday at the 2016 Danish Open, as he will represent Denmark in the 4x200m freestyle relay in Rio de Janeiro this August.

The Copenhagen native helped Denmark to garner a berth at the 2015 World Championships in August as a member of the 4x200m free relay. He secured his spot on the squad this weekend as he earned a top-four finish in the 200m free event standings with a mark of 1:49.12.

Dahl marks the third Wolfpacker to qualify for the Olympics as he will join teammate Anton Ipsen, who qualified in the 400m free, on Denmark’s national team. Additionally, Simonas Bilis will represent Lithuania in the 50m and 100m free.
