Auburn's Arthur Mendes steadily pushed the lead to win heat one (1:45.64). Florida's Cameron Martin (1:43.64) and Dan Wallace (1:44.30) battled throughout with Martin ultimately coming out on top with a much stronger last 50 in heat two. Florida continued to roll as Sebastien Rousseau (1:43.20) dominated the back half of heat three to finish well ahead of LSU's Frank Greef (1:45.00). Florida earned each of the top four qualifying spots in the race to further put their stamp on what seems to be a orange and blue snowball effect happening on the men's side of the meet.

Alabama freshman Victoria Hove (2:04.63) closed like a freight train to pass Tennessee's Heather Kiger (2:04.15) and win heat one. A&M puts three in the big girl final, including the top two qualifiers, while Tennessee and Georgia both earn two.

Auburn senior Lauren Norberg (59.89) outlasts Georgia's Melanie Margalis (1:00.01) to win the penultimate heat of the morning session. U.S. Olympic Trials champ Breeja Larson ties Molly Hannis' record of 58.22 in her heat while Nikki Daniels of Arkansas hung with her solidly (59.26). Auburn's Lindsey Norberg and Abby Duncan both went under a minute as well. It took a 1:00.01 to make the A final and every swimmer in the final has been under a minute this season. Four Auburn swimmers three of whom are seniors, qualify for the final.
