Washington & Jefferson Swept by Wheeling Jesuit

The dual meet season for the 2015-16 Washington & Jefferson swimming & diving programs came to a close with a pair of losses at NCAA Division II Wheeling Jesuit.

The Presidents women were edged by the Cardinals, 134-116, while the men were downed by a 179-76 margin.

Alexis Glenn was the top performer for W&J on the afternoon, sweeping the backstroke events with a time of 28.86 in the 50 backstroke and a 2:15.31 in the 200 yard version of the event.

Three women also scored individual victories at WJU: Madison Babicka sprinted to a finish of 25.62 in the 50 freestyle, Laura Travers secured first in the 50 butterfly in 28.95, and Jenny Matuszewski continued her strong season in distance events with the victory in the 500 freestyle with an 11 second win, 5:39.26.

For the men, Jeremy Glasner was victorious in the 400 individual medley with his time of 4:32.80.

W&J will be back in the pool for the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships, which will once again be hosted at Grove City February 10-13.
