Keiser University Starting Men's & Women's Teams

Keiser University will add men's and women's swimming in time for the 2016-17 season. Keiser has been in operation since 1977 but added a residential campus last spring when it took over Northwood University's campus in West Palm Beach.  Additionally, the South Florida school will add lacrosse bringing the total number of varsity sports to twenty.

The NAIA school, which has won national championships in women's golf and tennis is a member of the Sun Conference.  Keiser will be the third swimming school, joining the Savannah College of Art & Design and Thomas University.  SCAD is a member of the Bluegrass conference while Thomas penultimate meet is the South Georgia Small College Championships.

The Sun Conference, which all other Seahawks teams are currently affiliated, does not recognize lacrosse or swimming as an officially sanctioned sport. Keiser will become the third Sun Conference institution to sponsor at least one lacrosse program, following Ave Maria and SCAD-Savannah. Keiser will also become the third conference school to sponsor men's and women's swimming along with Thomas and SCAD-Savannah.

National searches for head coaches for these sports are underway.
