Westminster Men, Grove City Women Picked to Win Presidents' Athletic Conference

The Westminster College men's swimming and diving program received four of five first-place votes to claim the top spot on the 2014-15 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Men's Swimming and Diving Preseason Coaches' Poll, as voted on by the league's head coaches.

The PAC announced the results of its preseason coaches' poll and its swimmers/divers to watch list Friday.

The Titans and 30th-year head coach Rob Klamut collected 24 of a possible 25 points to claim the top spot among the league's five men's programs.

Westminster posted a second-place finish at the 2014 PAC Championships after claiming the conference crown in 2013.

Grove City and 13th-year head coach Dave Fritz secured the final first-place vote and totaled 20 points to earn the number two spot on the poll. The Wolverines won their 18th PAC team title last year.

Saint Vincent College finished third with 16 points, followed by Washington & Jefferson (10 pts.) and Bethany College (5 pts.).

Grove City will host the 2014-15 PAC Swimming and Diving Championships, which will take place Wednesday-Saturday, February 11-14. The conference championships will be held in conjunction with Grove City's 25th annual James E. Longnecker Swimming and Diving Invitational and ninth annual Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championships at the James E. Longnecker Competition Pool. Longnecker Pool has been the home of the PAC swimming and diving championships since 1990.

The Grove City College women's swimming and diving program secured five of six first-place votes to earn the top spot on the 2014-15 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Women's Swimming and Diving Preseason Coaches' Poll, as voted on by the league's head coaches.

The PAC announced the results of its preseason coaches' poll and its swimmers/divers to watch list Friday.   

The Wolverines and sixth-year head coach Dave Fritz collected 35 of an available 36 points to claim the top spot among the league's six women's programs.

Grove City earned its sixth-straight PAC championship a season ago. The league title was Grove City's 12th overall since winning its first PAC crown in 1991. The Wolverines earned 23 team points at last year's NCAA Division III Championships to finish 27th in the team standings.

Westminster College nabbed the final first-place vote and totaled 31 points to secure the number two spot on the poll.

Saint Vincent College and Washington & Jefferson College tied for third on the poll with 21 points. Chatham University was fifth (10 pts.) while Bethany College followed in sixth (8 pts.).
