Wagner Beats St. Francis

The Wagner women's swimming & diving team won its second straight home meet with a 119-81 victory over Saint Francis U on Friday night.

Junior Amanda Lucia (Easthampton, MA / Easthampton) broke another pool record when she swam the 200 yard butterfly in a time of 2:02.44. The previous record was set last year by Kwok from LIU Post when she registered a mark of 2:03.78.

Sophomore Grace Baird (Lexington, NC / West Davidson High School) finished first in the 1650 yard freestyle with a time of 17:36.18 while freshman Kirsty Hessing (Bloomington, IL / Normal Community) won the 500 yard freestyle in a time of 5:17.23.

Sophomore Anu Nihipali (Honolulu, HI / Hawaii Preparatory Academy) took first in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:09.20 while fellow Hawaii native, freshman Leahi Camacho (Kailua Kona, HI / Kealakene), ca[tured the 200 yard backstroke by recording a time of 2:10.68. Rounding out the individual wins for the Green & White was senior Samantha Sides (Cherry Hill, NJ / Cherry Hill East)  who won the 50 yard freestyle in a time of 25.07.

The Seahawks' 200 yard medley relay team, comprised of junior Michele Detka (Buckeye, AZ / Verrado (University of Houston)), sophomore Katja Claesson (Fullerton, CA / Troy High School), Nihipali, and Sides, also won the in a time of 1:47.77
