Ninety Swimmers & Divers Earn Academic All-Big 12 Honors

The Big 12 Conference has named a total of 90 student-athletes to the 2014 Academic All-Big 12 Swimming and Diving Team.

A total of 31 men were honored with 24 first team selections and seven second team honorees. On the women’s side, the 59-member team is comprised of 47 first team members and 12 second team honorees.
 
The 16 honorees by the TCU women led all teams, while Texas totaled the most on the men’s side with 14 selections. Both teams recorded a combined 22 honorees, while West Virginia combined for 26 members.
 
Sara Brzozowski (TCU), along with West Virginia’s Sloan Storie and Haily VandePoel were nominated with 4.00 grade point averages.

First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.

To qualify student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of their team’s scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
