All-MIAA Teams Announced

Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association champion Calvin placed seven swimmers on the All-MIAA men’s swimming and diving team that was announced Friday.

The Knights won the MIAA title for the first time in school history Saturday in their home pool at the Venema Aquatic Center. Kalamazoo placed five swimmers on the All-MIAA team, while Hope and Albion each had four.

Albion senior Brian Fiorillo captured Most Valuable Swimmer honors for the second year in a row, while Kalamazoo junior Elliot Littman was named Most Valuable Diver.

The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has announced its 2013-14 All-MIAA women’s swimming and diving team.

Calvin, which won the MIAA title for the 10th consecutive year, placed five swimmers on the all-conference team. Hope, which finished second to the Knights at the conference meet, placed eight members on the All-MIAA team.

Calvin sophomore Michaela Rookus was the MIAA’s Most Valuable Swimmer, while Hope sophomore Sarah Sheridan was named Most Valuable Diver.
