Ten men’s teams and seven women’s teams that sent participants to the NCAA Championships, as well as five top-30 NCAA men’s finishers and four top-20 NCAA women’s fi! nishers highlight the 2014-2015 Virginia Tech swimming and diving schedule, as announced by head coach Ned Skinner on Wednesday.

“We are very excited about the schedule we have assembled,” explained head coach Ned Skinner. “It features traditional rivalries within our conference and outside of our conference.”

The fall season will begin with the Virginia Tech Swimming & Diving Challenge at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center, which will feature men’s top-20 finisher Penn State along with the Old Dominion men, Liberty women and James Madison women. A month later, Tech will host the H2Okie Fall Invitational.

The H2Okies will hit the road to face ACC foes UNC, Duke, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh and Virginia. In early December, Tech’s divers will travel to the University of Georgia, the defending women’s national champions, for the University of Georgia Invitational.

In January, the Kentucky men’s team and the Richmond women’s team will battle the H2Okies at home before Georgia Tech, UNC-Wilmington and the Miami women come to town for a meet on Senior and Parent Day. The regular season will close with the Virginia Tech Invitational on Feb. 7-8 before the ACC and NCAA tournaments conclude the 2014-2015 season.

“Will be preparing all season long for the ACC Championships at Georgia Tech in which we have so many great memories,” Skinner added. “NCAA’s for the ladies in Greensboro will be a known place for us, while the men’s NCAA meet at University of Iowa will be a new site for everyone.”

The 2015 ACC tournament will be hosted by Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Georgia on Feb. 18-21 for the women and Feb. 25-28 for the men. The Women’s NCAA Championships will be held in Greensboro, North Carolina on March 19-21 while the Men’s NCAA Championships will be in Iowa City, Iowa on March 26-28.
