Oswego State Swept By Cortland

The Oswego State men's and women's swimming and diving teams fell to the Cortland Red Dragons Wednesday afternoon at Laker Hall. The final score on the men's side was 141-99 in favor of the visitors, while the Red Dragons bested the Laker women by a score of 139-86.
 
Justin Berrios (So., Bronx, N.Y.) had a standout performance, sweeping the men's diving events. Berrios posted a score of 229.30 to win the 3-meter event and 239.60 in his 1-meter victory.
 
The Oswego State women benefited from individual victories by Ashley Rode (Jr., Hilton, N.Y.) and Katie Flood (Jr., Hastings-on-the-Hudson, N.Y.). Rode touched first in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:08.60. Flood's time of 1:13.37 earned her a first-place finish in the 100 breaststroke.
 
The Laker women were also triumphant in the 200 freestyle relay. Rode teamed up with Emily Plummer (Sr., Horseheads, N.Y.), Laurie Jackson (Jr., Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) and Nicole Montera (Fr., Woodstock, N.Y.) to turn in a winning time of 1:49.52.

 The Oswego State men finished the meet on a winning note, out-touching Cortland to win the 200 freestyle relay. The team of Austin Nau (Fr., Rochester, N.Y.), Andrew Minnick (Jr., Latham, N.Y.), Matt Pamlanye (Jr., Holbrook, N.Y.) and Ben Palais (Jr., Rye, N.Y.) clocked a time of 1:32.56 to finish first.

 The Lakers will host Geneseo on Saturday in their final home meet of the season. This year's senior class will be honored prior to the 1 p.m. start time.
