Harvard Women, Princeton Men Top Latest Mid-Major

The second CollegeSwimming.com Mid-Major Division I Ranking has been released and the Ivy's lead the way.  On the men's side Princeton held onto the top spot.  The Tigers are seeking a second-consecutive and fourth overall Mid-Major title.  For the women, Harvard University leaps to the top spot, overtaking Miami-OH.  Harvard is seeking its fifth overall title, but first since 2009.  In all a record seventy-five schools participated in the current ranking.

Now in its 11th year, the Mid-Major Rankings were established by then-Evansville Head Coach Clark Campbell.  Now coordinated by Randy Horner at Florida International, the Rankings serve to provide an objective point system to compare teams’ relative strength in a traditional dual meet lineup. The ranking is available to those institutions that a) are not members of a BCS conference or Mountain West Conference, or b) provide fewer than one-half of the allowable scholarships under the NCAA rules.
