Terps Take Home Invite, Cuts Pile up for Hopkins

The Maryland swimming and diving team swept its biggest event of the fall with a pair of repeat championships in the Terp Cup, which wrapped up Saturday night at Eppley Recreation Natatorium.  It was Johns Hopkins, one of the premier programs in NCAA D-III history, however, that best positioned itself for a bright post-season by posting serveral NCAA cuts.

The Maryland women's three-peat effort was led by individual wins from Ginny Glover (200 back - 1:56.02), Annie Fittin (100 free - 49.27), and Addison Koelle (200 fly - 1:59.73) during Saturday night's finals. Glover narrowly missed a school record in the 200 back. The Terrapin 400 free relay (Fittin, Jenni Roberts, Megan Lafferty, Glover) also touched the wall first (3:20.35), with a tremendous race, knocking off nearly seven seconds from its qualifying mark. The Terps finished the three-day event with 1065.5 points.

The men were also solid across the board Saturday night en route to its second consecutive Terp Cup crown.
