Double Winners Highlight National Swimmer Honors

Multiple wins earned Alyssa Anderson (Arizona) and Adam Meyer (Navy) the Counsilman Hunsaker National Collegiate Swimmer-of-the-Week honors.  Mary Katherine Waddell (Delta State), Roman Sereda (Delta State), Kendra Stern (Amherst), and Cameron Webb (Luther) also received the award.  The six were selected based on their performances December 15 - January 4.

AndersonAlyssa Anderson, University of Arizona
Anderson (Granite Bay, CA)
had two wins at the Arizona Quad helping her team defeat Northern Arizona (254.50- 45.50), Oregon State University (243- 37) and the University of Washington (210- 70).  The freshman won the 200 butterfly (1:58.91, NCAA "B" time), the 500 freestyle (4:52.82) and swam to a thirteenth place finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.33).  Anderson also assisted on the eighth place 200 freestyle relay (1:41.72).  

Division  I  MenMeyer
Adam Meyer, Navy
Meyer (Bethesda, MD)
had three wins in the 112-188 dual meet loss to Harvard.  The junior won the 200 butterfly (1:48.26), the 200 breaststroke (2:04.38) and the 400 individual medley (3:56.49).  The Olympic trials qualifier also assisted on the second place 200 medley relay (1:35.29).

Division II Women                                                                                                                  

KieferMary Katherine Waddell, Delta State University
Waddell (Florence, AL)
achieved multiple NCAA times and a school record while helping her team to a fourth place finish at the Delta State Christmas Meet.  The freshman finished third in the 50 freestyle (24.52, NCAA "B" time and school record) and fifth in the 100 freestyle (53.43, NCAA "B" time).  Waddell also assisted on the fourth place 400 medley relay (3:57.07), the fourth place 200 freestyle relay (1:38.83) and the fourth place 400 freestyle relay (3:36.65).

 
Division II Men 

KieferRoman Sereda, Delta St. University
Sereda (St. Petersburg, Russia)
had two wins to help his team to a fourth place finish at the Delta State Christmas Meet.  The senior won the 100 butterfly (49.13, NCAA "A" time) and 200 individual medley (1:50.82, NCAA "A" time and school record).  The All-American  also assisted on the second place 400 medley relay (3:21.93, NCAA "A" time and school record), the second place 200 yard freestyle relay (1:23.59), the fourth place 200 medley relay (1:33.38) and the second place 400 freestyle relay (3:04.75, NCAA "A" time).


Division III Women                                                                                                                  Kendra Stern, Amherst College
Stern (Albuquerque, NM)
had two wins in the 163-102 dual meet victory over Hamilton College.  The sophomore won the 200 freestyle (1:54.32, NCAA "B" time) and the 100 freestyle (52.69, NCAA "B" time).  She also assisted on the winning 400 medley relay (4:05.33) and the exhibition 200 freestyle relay (1:41.36).
 
Division III Men

Cameron Webb, Luther College
Webb (Carroll, IA)
had two wins in the 156-60 dual meet victory over Loras.  The senior won the 200 freestyle (1:44.54) and the 100 freestyle (47.45).  Webb also assisted on the wining 400 freestyle relay (3:21.49).
