Recruiting information

SUNY New Paltz is the most selective Division III comprehensive public college in the state. Despite the demanding courseload, the Hawks have been one of the premier swim teams in the SUNYAC. The school has an impressive history of national qualifiers and national champions as well, with Cooper Knapp being our most recent national champion in 2018.

Here are a few quick facts about our campus and our team:

- SUNY New Paltz is made up of roughly 8,000 students from over 37 different countries

- The student to faculty ratio is 15:1, and 70% of all classes have less than 30 students

- The school offers 60+ majors including unique majors like Astronomy, Black Studies, International Relations, and women’s studies

- The SUNY New Paltz School of Business offers the best in state tuition rates, and an accelerated MBA program that can save students over $2,000 in costs

- SUNY New Paltz boasts a tradition of excellence with 13 conference champions in the past 3 seasons, 1 National Championship and 4 Conference Records. The program has also broken 13 school records in that time span as well

- As a program we rely on quality over quantity. We aim for 4-6K of purposeful yardage a day.

- We are active in our community, participating in events including Community clean-up, volunteering at the S.O.S. (a legendary local triathlon), raking leaves for community members, and more
