Bonnie Dix

Head Coach

B.S., University of Vermont M.S., University of Tennessee Bonnie Dix, entering her 28th season as the Head Swimming and Diving Coach at Wellesley College. As of 2014-15, Dix has led the team to a 18 straight Seven Sisters titles. Last season, Dix led the Blue to a 3rd place finish at the NEWMAC Championships for the third straight year. During her tenure, she has produced 21 NCAA qualifiers, 13 All-Americans (responsible for 38 All-America honors) and two New England Champions. In addition, Dix’s Wellesley teams have posted three undefeated seasons: 1993-94, 1999-00 and 2000-01. Since the inception of the NEWMAC in 1998, Wellesley Swimming & Diving have won two conference championships. Prior to the formation of the NEWMAC, Wellesley won the only swimming and diving championship ever sponsored by the New England Women’s 8 (NEW 8), claiming the title in 1997-98. For her efforts, Dix has been honored by her coaching peers as the NEW 8 Coach of the Year in 1997-98 and NEWMAC Coach of the Year in 1998-99 and 2004. Dix is a member of the American Swim Coaches Association, Level IV, the College Swim Coaches Association and the New England College Swimming Coaches Association. She also served as drug testing liaison at the 2011 NCAA Swimming and Diving National Championships. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont, where she was a Division I swimmer. In addition, she holds a master’s degree from the University of Tennessee, where she was assistant coach and interim head coach. During her tenure with the Volunteers, Dix coached Tennessee’s first Southeastern Conference Individual Champion. During the summer, Dix serves as a guest speaker at various camps and clinics around the nation and abroad. Recently, she used a leave to do research involving taper and re-taper methods, strength training specifically for swimmers, and the differences in training male and female collegiate swimmers.

OVERVIEW Coach Richard Mojica has 25-years of swimming experience coaching, teaching and motivating swimmers ranging in skills levels of novice, age groups, high school, master and international competitive swimmers in a multicultural environment. Among his many coaching strengths, he is a master at identifying and maximizing swimmers’ individual strengths and has trained multiple swimmers to the state, national, and international level. He is the Head Coach of PEAK 1 or PEAK 2 curriculum where he assists all swimmers in improving their swimming techniques in all strokes. In addition, he develops and conducts dry-land training for swimmer ranging from 9-18years. International Aquatic Coaching Aquatic Consultant As an Aquatic Consultant to The Grenada Amateur Swimming Association (GASA), Coach Richard works with the National Coach and other coaches to: ✓ improve/develop swimmers’ technique regarding racing starts and turns ensuring compliance with FINA rules ✓ assist with preparing the national team for the upcoming championships ✓ identify mental exercises and motivational initiatives to strengthen the mental toughness of the swimmers, and ✓ provide reports on the performance, requirements, and recommendations to address weaknesses for each swimmer on the national team Coach Richard Mojica provided similar coaching services to the Curacao Aquatic Association (CAA) from 2014 to 2016
