Swimming is well-respected at William Jewell. It gets a lot of attention and money put toward it. At Division II programs, you sometimes won’t see that. I could tell they treat their athletes really well.
I'm so excited to make my commitment to attend William Jewell in the Fall 2019. From the moment I stepped on campus I felt at home. The small class sizes, emphasis on critical thinking, and the awesome music program, really resonate with my learning style and career goals. In addition, the Cardinal Swim team welcomed me as their own during my official visit and exude team spirit I could not find anywhere else. In my conversations with Coach Szuba I could feel his passion for coaching and developing his swimmers to be exceptional in both the classroom and in the pool. I thank God for blessing me and walking with me through times of uncertainty and times of plenty. I thank my mom and dad for all their hard work and pushing and encouraging me when I was too tired to go early AM practices and when I found out I had to swim the 500free, twice in two days! My deepest thanks to my highschool coach, Coach Peele, for believing in me even when I kept breathing into the walls and not bending my arm. To Coach Morgan Peele who saw the potential in me and predicted I could hit my goal of 22sec in the 50free. Additionally, I thank all my club coaches at TFA and Metroplex Aquatics for those tough sets and race strategy sessions. I'm so looking forward to being a Cardinal!
