Swimmers of the Week - March 5th

As Conference Championships are coming to a close, we are nearing the NCAA Championships and seeing many teams trying to increase their NCAA qualifiers at Last Chance meets. This week’s list of National and Conference Swimmers of the Week is much shorter than usual due to being in between Conference champs and NCAAs.

The lone Division I Swimmer of the Week is Justin Lynch of Cal. Justin won the 50 free and 100 fly, and earned second in the 100 free at the Pac 12 Championships. He now ranks 6th in the 50 free and 5th in the 100 fly in Division I.

Artur Osvath is once again named the Mid Major Swimmer of the Week. This is Osvath’s 3rd National Honor (1 Division I and 2 Mid Major). Osvath led Missouri State to a Mid American Conference Championship by winning the 100 fly and 200 IM, and placing second in the 200 breast.

This week’s NAIA award winners are Alexis Kessler and Lukas Macek. This is Kessler's 3rd National Award and Macek's 2nd National Award. Kessler earned three victories at the NAIA Championships in the 50 free, 100 free, and 100 fly. Macek also saw the top of the podium in three individual events as he swept both breaststrokes and 200 IM at the NAIA Championships.

All selections are independent of selections made by each conference.
