Stanford, Drury, Denison Sweep National Honors

Sweeping the Division I National Awards was Stanford. Katie Ledecky (Stanford) won 4 events throughout the weekend (200 free, 400 IM, 500 free, and 1000 free) as she led Stanford to wins over Arizona State and Arizona. While on the men’s side, Grant Shoults won 3 events while also leading Stanford to wins over Arizona and Arizona State.

Division II also saw a sweep in National Awards as Drury’s Bailee Nunn and Joan Casanovas won Division II Awards. Nunn won the 100 fly and 200 IM and led off a victorious 200 free relay in a tough loss to Missouri State. Casanovas (currently ranked 3rd in the 200 free and 1st in the 500 free in Division II) won the 200 free (1:37.13) and 500 free (4:28.76) against Missouri State.

Denison earned both Division III Swimmers of the Week as KT Kustritz and Matthew Hedman won the National Awards. Hedman was Denison’s top performer against Pitt on Saturday, and led Denison to wins over Johns Hopkins and Carnegie Mellon on Sunday. Kustritz was Denison’s only event winner against Pitt and also added 2 wins on Sunday.

This week’s Mid Major Awards go to Andrea Cholodovskis Lima (Nevada) and Artur Osvath (Missouri State). Cholodovskis led Nevada to a win over UNLV as she swept the 100 free, 200 free, and 200 IM. On the men’s side, Osvath showed his versatility as he came out on top in 4 events over the weekend (100 fly, 200 fly, 200 breast, and 200 IM).
