LYNCHBURG, Va. – Competing in the LaHaye Aquatics Center for the final time, the Liberty swimming & diving team posted a resounding 205-57 win over visiting Campbell in front of a packed house, Friday.

      Liberty won all 14 events contested on the evening, setting five pool records in the process. The Lady Flames also took the top two places in 11 out of 14 races, including three 1-2-3 sweeps.

      With the win, Liberty improves to 7-2 on the season, including 3-1 in CCSA meets. Campbell falls to 7-4 overall and 4-2 in league meets. The Lady Flames now lead the all-time series, 9-2, winning the last nine meetings with the Camels.

      Friday’s meet was a rematch of the first-ever contest held at LaHaye Aquatics Center, as these two teams squared off on Oct. 2, 2010. Liberty finishes with a 9-2 record all-time at the facility, including eight straight home wins to close out. With construction continuing on the Liberty Natatorium, Friday served as the last meet at LaHaye Aquatics Center.

      Prior to the meet, Liberty honored its two graduating swimmers, Rachel Rippey and Victoria Tschoke, with a Senior Night ceremony.

      Alicia Finnigan, Rachel Hoeve, Prudence Rooker, Delia Weber and Brittany Weiss won two individual events apiece for Liberty, while Finnigan (200 fly), Prudence Rooker (100 breaststroke) and Weiss (100 back) all broke pool records.

      The Lady Flames’ 200 medley relay set the tone for a record-breaking meet, as the team of Tschoke, Rooker, Weiss and Hoeve won in pool-record time of 1:44.24.

      Weber then dominated the field in the 1000 free, clocking 10:23.65 for first place. Teammate Dani Jordan placed second in 10:44.06.

      Liberty earned its first 1-2-3 sweep of the night in the 200 free, led by Chelsea Pond’s winning 1:53.28 performance. Ashlee Sall edged out Elizabeth Magnusson for second, 1:55.58 to 1:55.59.

      Weiss swam a season-best 55.89 to break the existing 100 backstroke pool record of 56.63, previously held by Kendall Hough. Tschoke’s 58.58 was good for second, while Boothe earned fourth place in 59.81.

      Rooker spearheaded Liberty’s 1-2-3 showing in the 100 breaststroke with a pool-record swim of 1:04.89, breaking Laura Day’s facility record of 1:05.35 set in 2013. Ricki Lee Hodges (1:07.02) and Taylor Lynch (1:07.98) placed second and third, respectively.

      Finnigan lowered her own pool record from 2:05.89 (2016) to 2:03.57 while winning the 200 fly. Ashley Mauzy finished third in 2:10.58.

      Hoeve remained perfect in the 50 free during the dual meet season, pocketing her fifth win in the event. Hoeve swam 23.93 for the victory, followed by Colleen Donlin at 24.41. Pond placed fourth in 24.57.

      Hoeve made it back-to-back victories on the night, taking the 100 free victory in 52.57. Liberty earned the top three places, as Hannah Baker (53.11) and Donlin (53.21) came in second and third.

      Tschoke picked up a 200 backstroke victory on her Senior Night with a 2:04.20 clocking, while Jordan followed in second at 2:10.37.

      Rooker collected her second win of the night, clocking 2:19.92 for the 200 breaststroke. Taylor Lynch (2:28.36) and Morgan Weigner (2:32.95) finished in third and fourth, respectively.

      Weber led a 1-2-3 Liberty sweep in the 500 free, winning in 5:05.63. Sall followed next in 5:11.93, while Magnusson (5:14.32) was third.

      The closest race of the evening, the 100 fly, was decided by .05 of a second, as Weiss held off Finnigan at the end, 57.62 to 57.67. Shelby Black finished fourth in 58.99.

      Finnigan earned the final individual-event victory in pool history with a 2:08.41 in the 200 IM. Tschoke placed third in 2:12.46, followed closely by Taylor Lynch, 2:13.02.

      The 200 free relay also proved to be a close race, as Liberty’s team of Hodges, Pond, Baker and Hoeve won in pool-record 1:36.22. The Lady Flames’ quartet of Boothe, Weiss, Rooker and Donlin swam 1:36.43.

        Liberty will wrap up the regular season with a two-day meet at Davidson. The meet, which features Liberty, Gardner-Webb, Georgia Southern and Davidson, is scheduled to take place next Friday and Saturday at the Charles A. Cannon Pool.

LYNCHBURG, VA. – Liberty downed Campbell 205-57 Friday evening at the LaHaye Aquatic Center.

Liberty moved to 7-2 overall on the season, while Campbell dipped to 7-4, taking all 14 events in the meet.

Caroline Clark took a pair of second place finishes on the day, posting a 2:08.85 mark in the 200 fly, as well as a 2:12.28 in the 200 IM. Taylor McMinn also took runner-up in the 200 breaststroke with a 2:28.09 mark.

Camels took third place finishes in seven events.

Campbell will round out its 2016-17 home schedule next week, hosting North Florida on January 28 at 11 a.m. The Camels' regular season finale will come at UNCW on February 4 before heading to the CCSA Championships, February 15-18.
