Quah is Berkeley-Bound But Eligibility Questions

Yahoo Sports Singapore reports that Quah Zheng Wen has boarded a flight to join the University of California, Berkeley. in time for the Spring semester.

Quah was an Olympic semi-finalist at the Rio Olympics in the 100 and 200 butterfly and received a deferrment from service in the Singaporian Defense Ministry in order to train in the states. 

As Quah travels to the states, Yahoo reports that his eligibilty has not yet been finalized.  It is unlikely, however, that Cal would have extended a partial scholarship had they not expected Quah to be eligible. 

Quah explained that he had received prize money for competing in the World Cup and is also a 'brand ambassador' for Liberty Insurance.  In trying to explain them, Quah showed a tremendous grasp of NCAA rules"… there’s a lot of little grey areas we’re trying to figure out with them.”
