The Pomona-Pitzer men maintain their lead after day two with a team score of 363. CMS sits in second with 331 while Cal Lutheran is in third with 263. Redlands is in fourth with 210 while La Verne occupies fifth with 163. Occidental totaled 147 after two days for the sixth spot while Caltech is in seventh with 126. Whittier (119) and Chapman (99) end the day at eighth and ninth respectively.
On the women’s side CMS extended its lead with a 488 total after day two. Pomona-Pitzer sits in second with 326 while Redlands (235) and Chapman (182) are third and fourth. Cal Lutheran occupies the fifth spot with 169 points while Occidental is in sixth with 157. Whittier (153), La Verne (119) and Caltech (85) round out the seven through nine spots.
The scoring started off with the 3-meter diving board for the men with CMS freshman Kendall Hollimon taking home the title with a score of 611.20. Jacob Minor from Redlands took second with 477.90 and La Verne’s Andrew Tompkins rounded out the All-SCIAC finishers with a 428.25.
In the women’s 500 freestyle Claremont-Mudd-Scripps swept the podium with Elizabeth Carrade taking first with a time of 5:01.17, Lauren Rosenberger came in second with 5:04.60 and Shannon Steele took third with 5:06.43.
Freshman Ben Culberson from CMS took the men’s 500 Free with a time of 4:28.89. Another freshman, Benjamin Brewer from Cal Lutheran took second with a time of 4:29.12 while Pomona-Pitzer’s Mark Hallman finished third in 4:32.10.
In the women’s 200 IM senior Ellie Jacques from Redlands claimed first place with a time of 2:05.71. In second place, Stephanie Doi, a senior from CMS, placed second with a time of 2:06.31. In third place, a freshman from Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Ivy Chen with a time of 2:08.25.
In the men’s 200 IM, a sophomore from CMS took the top spot with the time of 1:51.24. In second place was junior from Pomona-Pitzer Samuel To with a time of 1:51.43 who finished just ahead of freshman Sam Willett from CMS who finished in a time of 1:51.59.
In the men’s 50 freestyle sophomore Adrian Hui of Pomona-Pitzer claimed first place with a time of 20.60. Second and third place finished within one one-hundredth of a second but it was senior Tim Polman of La Verne edging out junior Zach Zamecki from Cal Lutheran. Polman posted a time of 20.65 while Zamecki clocked in with a time of 20.66.
In the women’s 50 freestyle, freshman Jocelyn Crawford from CMS, posted a new SCIAC meet record of 23.34 to take first. Coming in second place from Pomona-Pitzer was defending champion from a year ago Madison Kauahi. In third place with a time of 23.84 were Grace Sanchez and Madrell Ramirez both from Cal Lutheran.
The women’s 200 freestyle came almost saw a SCIAC meet record set at Kelly Ngo, Jocelyn Crawford, Stephanie Doi and Emma Stacy clocked in with a time of 1:34.99 just shy of the 1:34.91 record set in 2011. Pomona came in second with a time of 1:35.56. Chapman finished third with a time of 1:37.71.
The men’s 200 freestyle relay came down to a close finish between Pomona-Pitzer and Cal Lutheran but the PP team of Hui, Hallman, Drover and To edged out the Kingsmen, posting the time of 1:22.13. Cal Lutheran came in second with a time of 1:22.64. CMS came finished in a time of 1:34.64 to round out the top three.
The championship continues tomorrow with the 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 back, 100 breast, 400 medley relay and the women’s 3-meter diving finals.
