Diver Stefany Busch became the first member of the Colorado State University-Pueblo Swimming & Diving team to officially punch her ticket to the NCAA National Meet with an automatic qualifying score of 417.20 in the time trials of the women's one-meter, 11 dives, at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships day three.
Busch (So., Carlsbad, Calif.) topped the field in Friday's time trial as she qualified for her first national meet, beating the minimum score of 390. The sophomore diver delivered a school record in the event. Busch also became the first student-athlete in the three-year history of the CSU-Pueblo Swimming & Diving program to qualify for the NCAA National Championships meet.
Junior April McDonough (Frisco, Texas) posted a national "B" Cut time in the 500 free with a mark of 5:10.70. In addition to her B cut time that could send her ton nationals, McDonough's time stands as third fastest in school history. She took ninth place in the event.
Arianna Rohde (so., Anchorage, Alaska) recorded the third fastest time in school history in the 100 back. Rohde placed 13th overall. Rohde also took 13th in the 200 butterfly, touching the wall in a time of 2:13.83.
The Pack remained in sixth overall in the eight team field with 158 points. They will continue competition at the RMAC Championships Saturday at the El Pomar Natatorium.
