Franklin & Marshall, Swarthmore, Gettysburg, Ursinus Tune Up at McGinness Invitational

 Several Franklin & Marshall swimmers turned in strong performances on Saturday as the Diplomats hosted the McGinness Invitational, the final tune-up before the Centennial Conference (CC) Championships next weekend. The meet, which included competitors from Swarthmore, Gettysburg, and Ursinus, was not team scored.

-Alyson Campbell earned her first of two individual victories in the 200-yard IM, touching the wall first in 2:22.61. Carson Gurley followed in second place with a time of 2:28.68.

-Campbell again came out on top in the 100-yard butterfly, taking first place after clocking a time of 1:05.35. Stephanie Schick earned second place with a mark of 1:08.05.

-Katie Schick led the way for F&M in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing in first place with a time of 2:06.84. Sydney Brannick was next in for the Diplomats, finishing in 2:09.54 to take second place.

-Three F&M swimmers performed well in the 500-yard freestyle, headed by Megan Liang in second with a time of 5:47.54. S. Schick took third with a time of 5:53.10, while Katherine Kidder finished in 6:22.68 to take fourth.

-Gurley recorded another second-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke, clocking a time of 2:52.28.

-Allison Marks also reached the podium, finishing the 100-yard backstroke in 1:03.54 to take second place.
