UNC Wilmington Bests Campbell

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW claimed 11 event wins to down visiting Campbell 208-86 Saturday at the Seahawk Natatorium.

UNCW moved to 7-5 overall on the season, while Campbell dipped to 8-5 with the loss. The Seahawks tallied wins in 11 of the day’s 14 swimming events to take the dual.

Highlighting Campbell’s efforts on the day were Sindija Silina, who took a win for the Camels in the 200 free with a 1:53.71 mark, while Caroline Clark took the 100 fly with a time of 57.19. Campbell closed out the meet with a win in the 200 free relay, netting a time of 1:35.90.

CU also took runner-up finishes in the 400 medley relay (3:55.67), 1000 free (Megan Shoemaker, 10:39.65), 200 fly (Clark, 2:06.73), 50 free (Michelle Case, 24.48) and the 100 free (Case, 52.85).

Next up for the Camels will be the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association Championships, beginning on February 15 in Athens, Ga. The event runs through Saturday, February 18.
