Northeastern took out crosstown rival Boston U on Saturday with a 165-135 victory.

BOSTON – The Northeastern swimming and diving team opened its season at Boston University today with a 165-135 victory. The Huskies recorded 11 first places finishes and 23 top three finishes. Sophomore Carly Schnabel led Northeastern earning 24.75 points. Schnabel earned two first place finishes in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle and was a member of the first place 400 freestyle relay squad.
All nine freshmen made their collegiate debut in today’s meet and six put their name on the score sheet. Most notably, swimmer Megan Clark racked up 23.5 points tabbing first place finishes in the 50 and 100 free with times of 24.04 and 52.49 respectively. Clark also notched 5.5 points for her role in the Huskies first place finish in the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relay.
Junior Christine Leong also hit the pad first in two races. Leong swam 58.07 and 2:06.89 in the 100 and 200 backstroke respectively.
On the diving side, Northeastern kicked off the events with a first, second and fifth place finish in the three-meter dives. Junior Jacquelyn Gover took first place with a score of 227.48. Teammate Alyssa Seales followed in second with a score of 222.45 and Caroline Gonsalves nabbed fifth with a 206.25 total. Seales and Gover also found the score sheet in the one-meter dives tabbing second and fourth respectively.
