Louisville blasted the field at its own Louisville Invitational.

Louisville Press Release

The University of Louisville men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams concluded the UofL Invitational with two NCAA A-cuts and 25 NCAA B-cuts while also breaking six meet records, five pool records, and two school records.

“It was just another really good night, and the energy was fantastic.” Head coach Arthur Albiero said after the final day’s events. “I credit the group, as I just talked to them about just the energy of being excited to perform under whatever conditions. I’m very pleased with the results of the weekend. I think we learned a lot about, especially our freshman, that was very important for us to learn what we could do. And finishing with the two relays again. I think it shows the strength of the team and the depth of what we are trying to do and it’s contagious. It’s been fun. It’s been a good first cycle for us now and we’ve got some very exciting things happening. Four athletes and a coach going to short-course worlds representing different countries – three for Team USA and representing UofL there, too. Very exciting things are ahead of us, but this is great. It’s a great environment to have this kind of meet at home. We’re very proud of it and excited to keep building upon it.”
