Louisville Press Release

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams posted three NCAA A-cuts and 27 NCAA B-cuts on the second day of the University of Louisville Invitational at Ralph Wright Natatorium on Saturday. The Cardinals also saw seven meet records and four pool records broken on the second day of the invite.

“That was a great session.” Arthur Albiero, UofL head coach, said after day two’s events. “Really proud of the energy that the team had and the stands were packed. It was just a great night of racing. This is what we love to do. Much along the lines of what we tried to do yesterday to use as an assessment, and I thought last night was pretty good, but tonight, across the board, it was actually better. Especially with those 800 free relays, achieving automatic qualifying standard times. In this kind of setting, this meet, it’s pretty tough to finish with the 800 free relay, so I think it says a lot about this group and the leadership and what we are trying to do looking ahead, looking at the big picture. Excited for one more good day of racing tomorrow.”
