CSU Pueblo got into the win column for the first time today with a win against Adams State.

PUEBLO, Colo. – Colorado State University-Pueblo Swimming & Diving picked up its first win of the 2016-17 season when the Pack knocked off Adams State University 103-98 Saturday afternoon at the Sam Jones Aquatic Center.
The Pack now holds a 1-3 record in dual meets this season. CSU-Pueblo has a 1-2 record now in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference duals.
Sophomore Arianna Rohde (Anchorage, Alaska) won two individual events for the Pack. Rohde bested the competition in the 200 Butterfly in a time of 2:13.72, five seconds ahead of the rest of the field. Jade Irick (So., Idaho falls, Idaho) finished second in the event with a time of 2:19.00.
Rohde returned to win the 200 backstroke in a time of 2:15.56. The sophomore's time ranks as the fifth fastest time in school history. Irick took second in that event as well (2:19.44). Rohde also swam the first leg of the Pack's 400 medley relay ( 4:15.82) that won first place and 11 points for the Pack.
April McDonough (Jr., Frisco, Texas) earned another two wins for the Pack. McDonough out-touched the field by five seconds in the 200 free with a time of 2:03.10. The captain came back later to take first place in the 500 freestyle (5:35.70). McDonough has four wins and is undefeated in individual events at home this season.
Senior Malin Wallmon (Stockholm, Sweden ) took home the gold medal in the 200 backstroke (2:46.44). Wallmon won the race by over a second. She also swam the second leg of the 400 medley relay.
Freshman, Phoebe Pontious (Caledonia, Mich.) continued the impressive start to her career with two second place finishes. Pontious was the runner up in the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.81. She also earned the silver medal in the 100 free (56.78). Pontious has five second place finishes this season.
Pontious swam the third leg of the victorious 400 medley relay team. Senior Clarissa Gardella (Bakersfield, Calif.) anchored the Pack to the win in that event. Gardella took fourth place in both of her individual events, the 50 free (27.27), and the 200 back (2:56.22).
Angie Randall (Fr., Fairbanks, Alaska) also claimed a pair of silver medals. Randall took second in the 1000 freestyle (11:53.25) and the 400 IM (5:17.14). Randall also helped the Pack's 800 free relay time to second place. Randall joined Irick, McDonough, and Taylor Wertz (Jr., Lamar, Colo.) to post a time of 8:42.75 in the 800 free relay, the fifth fastest time in school history.
CSU-Pueblo has beaten Adams in each of last two seasons. Two of the Pack's four duals wins in program history have come against the Grizzlies.
The Pack will compete against conference foe Western State, Friday Nov. 18 in Gunnison, Colo. The ThunderWolves second meeting of the season with the Mountaineers begins at 5 p.m.
