Hippe Transfers from Nebraska-Omaha to Colorado State

The Colorado State swimming & diving squad has added another newcomer for the 2016-17 season, as rising sophomore Colorado-native Danielle Hippe will join the Rams this fall.

Hippe, from Castle Rock, Colorado, competed for the Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks last season as a freshman. During her one season with the Mavericks, Hippe set a personal best in the 100 free, clocking in at 54.57 in the 2016 Summit League Championships.

“Dani is a great pick-up for us,” CSU Head Coach Christopher Woodard stated. “Six-foot freestylers don’t grow on trees, and we are confident she hasn’t yet reached her potential.”

Hippe lettered four years at Douglas County High School, and was a three-year state qualifier in the 50, 100 and 200 free events. She earned all-state second team honors all four seasons, and was also a CHSAA All-Academic honoree throughout high school.

She also represented her school in the Future Business Leaders of America, and was president of the Varsity Club.
