Brown LCM Invite

UMass

Looking to build their resumes for Olympic trial qualifying times, Alessandro Bomprezzi, Oliver Wyeth, and Brian Stiles all turned in impressive performances on Sunday at the Brown LCM Invitational. Bomprezzi won the 400 freestyle in 3-minutes, 59.2 seconds which was just shy of the U.S. Olympic trial cut, while Wyeth swam qualifying times in the 200 back and 200 free for the New Zealand Olympic trials.

The long course meet saw Bomprezzi turn in a time just 0.41 second off the U.S. Olympic trial cut mark. Wyeth swam a time of 2-minutes, 6-seconds in the 200 back and 1-minute, 56-seconds in the 200 free. The New Zealand native will soon return home to begin training for the Olympic trials in New Zealand looking to earn a spot on the national team for the upcoming Olympic Games in Rio.

Stiles rounded out the performances on Sunday with a trio of strong efforts in the 50 free, 100 free and 200 free. He swam 23.9 seconds, 53.9 seconds and 1-minute, 59-seconds in the three events, respectively.

All three performers have a shot at qualifying for the NCAA Championships at the end of March. The trio each swam NCAA 'B' cut times in several events. If there are not enough 'A' cut performers nationally in their events, their times could be qualify them.
