Athens Last Chance Meet

Liberty

One day after taking second at the 2016 CCSA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championship, Liberty competed in a long course time trial meet, held at Gabrielsen Natatorium.

Joined by swimmers from other CCSA institutions, the Lady Flames went in search of U.S. Olympic Trials standards.

In all, Liberty had seven lifetime-best long course times, with some athletes drawing nearer to the Olympic Trials cuts.

Victoria Tschoke came the closest to qualifying, as her lifetime-best 1:03.81 was 0.42 seconds off of the 100 back standard of 1:03.39. In the same event, Danielle Boothe swam 1:06.79, while Ashley Mauzy went 1:10.59.

Alicia Finnigan clocked a personal-best 2:16.67 in the 200 fly, with the standard being 2:14.99. Hannah Wakeley turned in a 2:21.61 200 fly. Later in the morning, Finnigan swam the 100 fly in 1:03.03, while Mauzy swam 1:05.77.

Rachel Hoeve touched the wall in 27.13 for 50 free, while Boothe clocked a lifetime-best 27.29. Prudence Rooker (27.51), Chelsea Pond (27.98) and Siani Null (personal-best 28.64) also completed 50 free swims.

Morgan Noonan swam 2:39.69 in the 200 breaststroke. Dani Jordan then covered 400 free in 4:37.60.

Ashlee Sall recorded a lifetime-best 58.98 in the 100 free, while Elizabeth Magnusson went 1:00.07 and Shelby Black, 1:01.56. Siani Null finished with a personal-best time of 1:02.34.

In the 100 breaststroke, Anna Dickinson led the way in 1:14.89, while Rooker followed closely behind in 1:15.10. Ricki Lee Hodges clocked a lifetime-best 1:17.30, and Morgan Weigner went 1:20.00.

Natalie Beale opened the session with a 2:07.02 in the 200 free. Magnusson (2:13.83) and Black (2:16.09) also swam 200 free time trials.
        
The Lady Flames will have additional opportunities to qualify for the U.S. Olympic Team Trials, which will be held in Omaha, Neb., from June 26 through July 3.
