Appalachian Swimming Conference - Day 2

Milligan

After a day and a half of the Appalachian Swimming Conference meet, the Milligan College swim team raced to two national qualifying times in the 50 freestyle and the 400 medley relay, and also had a top-15 finish.

Grant Callahan finished 15th in the 50 freestyle prelims with a national cut time of 21.90, then placed 14th in the finals at 22.03. He currently ranks third in the conference for that effort.

The Buffs' women's 400 medley relay team also posted a national cut time of 4:31.90, taking 21 seconds off their previous best.

The two national marks achieved on Thursday represent the seventh and eighth qualifying times by the Buffs this season. Callahan picked up his second of the season in the 50 free, the first national time on the men's side.

On the women's side, Alyssa Boyer owns a national time in the 1650 freestyle, while the women's medley relay is the fifth women's relay time to qualify for the final meet. Milligan previous made the cut in the 200 medley relay, the 800 free relay, the 200 free relay and the 400 free relay.

Festivities and events are scheduled to wrap up at the conference meet on Saturday, with nationals scheduled for the beginning of March in Columbus, Georgia.
