Colton Wyatt Signs With Wayland Baptist

Colton Wyatt of North Richland Hills has signed with the Wayland Baptist swimming & diving program.

A sprint freestyler, Wyatt is a UIL Class 6A regional qualifier as well as a TISCA North Zone qualifier.

"Colton is going to give us depth in our sprint events," WBU swim coach Alyson Hannan said. "He is very close to the national cuts, and our goal for when he is here is to get those cuts.

Colton said he chose Wayland because "everyone I met along the process was super nice to me and really genuine, which I really liked. I also chose Wayland because it all felt right and everything seemed like the perfect fit."

Said Hannan, "We are very excited to welcome Colton to the WBU swimming family."

Wyatt is the fourth signed recruit, and third male, of the season for WBU swimming. He joins flyer, backstroker and freestyler Daric Sundeen of Golden, Colo., distance swimmer Alan Senn of Albuquerque, N.M., and sprinter Sarah Grace Stephenson of Round Rock.

The Pioneers are ranked fourth in the NAIA Men's Coaches' Poll. WBU's women also are ranked fourth, representing the highest each program has been ranked in their four-year history.
