CollegeSwimming is Hiring!

After seven years, Chris Harrell, our longtime editorial director is moving back into the land of intercollegiate athletics.  As a result, CollegeSwimming is growing and looking for swimming fanatics to join our growing team.   

Feature Writer / Copywriter

As a writer, you will be responsible for primary coverage for a specific region of the college swimming landscape while also providing secondary coverage to support other writers.  In this role you will be responsible for both the production of original content according to an editorial calendar as well as copy writing.

We will consider candidates at various experience levels, but the ideal candidate:

  • Must available most weekend evenings throughout the college swimming and diving season;
  • Should have experience writing for a news outlet, preferably at a digital publication
  • Should have excellent reporting and writing skills, and the ability to write and edit quickly
  • Should have a knack for telling stories in a relatable and compelling way
  • Should have a demonstrated social media presence
  • Will benefit from some familiarity with basic HTML

Each position comes with a small stipend, the possibility of college credit and the opportunity to earn performance bonuses.  As a part of the CollegeSwimming team, there’s no getting coffee, filing, or making copies.  Each member of our staff integral part of our team and most have remained with CollegeSwimming for years.

External Publications Intern

Each week throughout the college swimming and diving season, CollegeSwimming produces Top 25 Rankings for each division and Swimmer-of-the-Week awards for each conference and division.   This person will be responsible for formatting and distributing these releases on a weekly basis. 

We will consider candidates at various experience levels, but the ideal candidate:

  • Must be able to work Tuesdays throughout the college swimming season;
  • Should have familiarity with HTML and tables;
  • Be able to meet tight timelines;

This position comes with a small stipend paid at the mid-point and the conclusion of the college swimming season.  To apply, please submit:
