N.C. State's Bilis Makes Lithuanian Olympic Team

Senior Simonas Bilis continued to create Wolfpack swimming history Friday morning, as he punched his ticket to the 2016 Olympic Games in the 100m freestyle for Lithuania.

The Panevezys, Lithuania, native, is the first Wolfpacker to officially earn a berth to Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

Bilis, who traveled to the Canadian Olympic and Para Swimming Trials this week in an attempt to earn a bid, swam a time of 48.64 in the 100m free to place third in the event prelims. He additionally notched a Lithuanian record and the 16th-fastest mark in the world for 2016 inside the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre.

He will also look to qualify in the 50m free in Toronto, which is slated for Sunday.
