Milligan Swept by King

The Milligan College men's and women's swimming teams opened the season Friday afternoon at Steve Lacy Fieldhouse with losses to King University.

The men fell 106-60, the women fell 171-79, and the Buffs lost by a combined score of 277-139.

"This was a good meet to evaluate our training to date and to determine what needs to be emphasized in our midseason training," Head Coach Jes Sutton said. "I was happy with the team spirit and the enthusiasm on deck and very pleased with how the new team members stepped up to compete."

Despite there being no new school records or qualifying times for the NAIA Swimming and Diving National Championships, Sutton said all swimmers showed improvement and that they are ready to step up their training over the next few months.

Milligan's next meet will be Friday, Oct. 23, at Union College, and the Buffs return to the fieldhouse on Nov. 14 against Warren Wilson.
