Allegheny Women Open in Lead at NCAC

The Allegheny College women's team leads the 2013 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Swimming & Diving Championships with 103 points following Wednesday evening's women's three-meter diving competition at the C.T. Branin Natatorium. Denison sits in second with 57 points, followed by DePauw (46), Kenyon (43), Wittenberg (30) and Oberlin (23), while Hiram, Ohio Wesleyan and Wooster have yet to score.

Denison freshman Kelly Frazier (Troy, MI/Seaholm) captured the title on the three-meter board with a score of 437.15. Frazier is now the sixth Big Red women's diver in a row to capture the NCAC title on the three-meter board.

Kenyon freshman Maria Zarka (Kanoehe, HI/Kalaheo) was second with 399.75 points, while the Allegheny duo of junior Emily Capone (Johnson City, NY/Johnson City) and freshman Erica Salizzoni (McMurray, PA/Peters Twp.) finished third and fourth, respectively, with scores of  361.05 and 360.70. Denison sophomore Sterling Keiser (Kalamazoo, MI/Cranbrook Kingswood) rounded out the top five in fifth-place with a score of 330.00.

The 2013 NCAC Swimming & Diving Championships continue through Saturday evening. Preliminary events start at 10:00 a.m. both days, while finals begin at 6:30 p.m.
