Oswego State Wins, Ties Against Clarkson

The Oswego State women's swimming and diving team earned its first win of the season, posting a decisive 127-76 victory over Clarkson in a short course pool on Saturday. The Laker men tied the Golden Knights 115-115.
 
 Tracey Hagan (Fr., Burnt Hills, N.Y.) and Katie Flood (Jr., Hastings on Hudson, N,Y.) led the way for the Laker women, winning two individual events each. Hagan swam to victory in the 200 IM (2:45.88) and 100 backstroke (1:17.68). Flood, meanwhile, was triumphant in the 200 freestyle (2:28.68) and 100 breaststroke (1:23.44).
 
 Other women's individual event winners were Sabia Filiaci (So., Schenectady, N.Y.) in the 100 butterfly (1:12.73) and Emily Doe (Fr., Dansville, N.Y.) in the 100 free (1:04.74). Filiaci also teamed up with Emily Plummer (Sr., Horseheads, N.Y.), Ashley Rode (Jr., Hilton, N.Y.) and Lauren Jackson (Jr., Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) to win the 200 free relay, posting a time of 2:01.30.
 
 Andrew Minnick (Jr., Latham, N.Y.) and Tom Schmid (Jr., Liverpool, N.Y.) set the tone for the Oswego State men. Minnick won the 100 free (56.63) and the 200 free (2:04.77) while Schmid swept the distance events posting times of 9:36.21 in the 800 free and 4:33.63 in the 400 free. Austin Nau (Fr., Rochester, N.Y.) also turned in a winning effort for the Lakers in the 100 back (1:05.55).
 
 The Lakers dominated the diving boards as Justin Berrios (So., Bronx, N.Y.) swept the 1-meter (192.60) and 3-meter (299.25) events while Samantha Moss (Jr., Smithtown, N.Y.) won on the 1-meter board (140.60). Moss also posted a score of 235.45 in the 3-meter event, but her score was posted as an exhibition.
 
 In the meet's final event, Zach Gerber (Fr., Oswego, N.Y.) and Matt Pamlanye (Jr., Holbrook, N.Y.) joined Minnick and Nau to win the 200 free relay in 1:42.31, ensuring a tie for the Lakers.
 
 The Lakers return to action next Saturday, November 10 as they travel to New Paltz to face the Hawks.
