SUNY-Oswego Sweeps Clarkson

he Oswego State men's and women's swimming and diving teams took advantage of 14 individual event wins from 12 different swimmers as each squad posted wins over Clarkson Saturday afternoon.  The Laker men prevailed 117-103, while the women won by the score of 121-82.  Kyle Lounsberry and Nick Pike were the only athletes to post multiple individual event wins.

Lounsberry swam to victories in the 50 and 100 meter freestyles with times of 22.49 and 50.00, respectively. Pike led the Lakers to wins in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives with scores of 119.90 and 150.40, respectively. 

Other Laker winners on the men's side included Matt Pamlanye in the 500 freestyle (5:18.76), Andrew Minnick in the 200 intermediate medley (2:10.46) and Alex Coleman-Gridley in the 1000 freestyle (10:50.15).

Registering wins in individual events on the women's side were Ashley Rode in the 100 freestyle (58.38), Emily Plummer in the 200 butterfly (2:26.80), Katie Flood in the 200 intermediate relay (2:26.68), Katie Russell in the 50 freestyle (26.61), Nikki Dean in the 200 freestyle (2:00.86), Kasey Simmons in the 1000 freestyle (11:39.20) and Kellie Schieber in the 1-meter dive (199.25 points).

The Oswego State 400 medley relay comprised of Keriann Earl, Delia Reed, Emily Plummer and Dean took home the team title with a time of 4:19.98.

The Lakers have next weekend off before they return to the pool Nov. 20 as they travel to Brockport for a dual meet at 1 p.m.
